Community Support

The Whitley Law Firm believes in giving back to the communities in which we live and work. The following four programs are designed to help young members of our communities by fostering awareness and encouraging ongoing education in many different areas. Please contact Whitley Law Firm for more information on how to get involved with these programs:

Headsmart Safety Helmet Program

Our goal with the HeadSmart program is to put safety helmets on the heads of as many bike-riding, roller-blading, skateboarding, scooter-riding kids as possible!

Because head injuries are the leading cause of disability and death from bicycling accidents, on July 5, 2001, House Bill 63, the Child Bicycle Safety Act, was approved. This act states any person below the age of 16, who is a bicycle passenger or operator, must wear a protective bicycle helmet of good fit fastened securely upon the head with the straps of the helmet. A helmet is required on public bicycle paths, public roadways and other public rights-of-way of the State.

We offer certified helmets at the price of only $5 - A price that is definitely HeadSmart.

Bring your child to any one of the five Whitley Law Firm offices to be properly fitted; then always make sure he or she wears it while bicycling or riding any human-powered device with wheels.

REMEMBER: Bicycle helmets can prevent 88% of the bicycle-related brain injuries.
