4 Year Old Bit in Face by Bullmastiff

On Wednesday evening of this week, it was reported that the owner of a Bullmastiff was cited by law enforcement after his dog bit a four-year-old boy.  The boy was bit in the face and had to be taken to a local hospital.

According to police, the boy had wandered into a friend's house located at 17th and Q streets.  At that time, his parents were looking at a car that was in the driveway which they were considering for purchase. The child entered the home even though he was told not to.

Police said that the boy would likely need stitches in his face.  Following the incident, the dog was impounded by the Nebraska Humane Society as a precaution.

The owner of the dog, 37-year-old Jeffrey Gundersen, with cited by officers for not having proof of registration or proof of vaccinations.
