Four Car Accidents Occur Over Holiday Weekend

In the state of North Carolina, there was snowfall in 100 counties ranging from 1 to 18 inches on Christmas Day. Unfortunately, due to the weather conditions there were four car accidents over the holiday weekend.
One accident involved a 24-year-old by the name of Hannah Ruth Floyd. She was riding as a passenger in a car that was involved in a collision on Interstate 85 on December 26, 2010. The vehicle hit a utility pole and investigators believe that alcohol and the dangerous weather conditions contributed to the accident that led to Hannah's death.
During that same collision, the driver of the car and another passenger suffered injuries.
Police report that another accident killed a seven-year-old pedestrian on December 26th at 7:00 PM. Officers believe that the temperature drop and ice on the roads may have contributed to that collision as well.
