2-Year-Old Conover Boy Hospitalized After Hit-And-Run
Police are searching for the driver of a white 1986 Ford pickup truck involved in a hit-and-run in Conover. The truck crashed into a car at the intersection of Emanuel Church Road and Travis Road, sending a two-year-old boy riding in the backseat of the car to the hospital.
A witness to the accident followed the truck and reported the license plate number to police: VVL-2630. The mother of the toddler gave him CPR until paramedics arrived at the scene and were able to revive him. The boy was still unconscious a day later, but his doctors say that he should make a full recovery due to the immediate care that he received on the scene. The boy is currently at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.
