Mysterious Crash Still Unexplained
A bizarre single-car collision is currently being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The accident occurred in Calhoun County on SC Primary 267 and killed one the four people in the car.
Thus far, officials have determined that 74-year-old Jerry L. Belk of Monroe, North Carolina was driving a Dodge Dooley pick-up truck when he drove off the right side of the road into a ditch. Belk then came back across the road and exited the left shoulder of the road. That is when Belk overturned the truck in an adjoining field.
Belk died on the scene from injuries sustained during the crash, but the three other passengers were all unharmed. The Highway Patrol continues to investigate to determine what may have caused the crash.
