Notice to your employer

It is real important to make sure that you give written notice to your employer of an accident.  North Carolina law requires that an employer have written notice of an injury within 30 days of the incident.  I have seen a few occasions where a worker was hurt but did not think the injury was very significant.  When the worker realized they would need medical care and be taken out of work, it was beyond the 30 day written requirement and their claim was denied by the insurance carrier.  Therefore, this is an important rule, even if you don't think you are hurt that bad, make sure you get written notice to your employer, just in case.
