Car Accident Results in Tragic Fatality
This past Wednesday evening in Loris, it is reported that a fatal accident took place on South Carolina Highway 9. Unfortunately, during the car accident, a man from the state of North Carolina died.
Police say that the one vehicle collision occurred at 6:30 PM just a half mile north of Loris.
According to Lt. Sonny Collins of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 1998 Ford Explorer had been heading southbound on South Carolina 9. The driver ran off the road and then over corrected. The car then came back onto the road, but overturned in the median.
The car accident led to the tragic death of 47-year-old Randy Charles Pegram. Police say that when the car accident took place, Pegram was the only person in the vehicle and he was wearing a seatbelt. The crash is expected to remain under investigation.
