Drunk Driver Invovled in Serious Accident
In Monroe, North Carolina, police in the area have charged a man with DWI after he wrecked his vehicle on Tuesday morning in Union County. Police say the drunk driving accident took place at 12:13 AM near Wesley Chapel Road.
Officers from the North Carolina Highway Patrol say that 36-year-old Brandon Marze was heading south on Wesley Chapel Road when he crossed over the center line. He then drove into a ditch and his vehicle flipped over numerous times before striking a parked truck.
It is said that he was traveling 90 MPH before the car accident occurred. He suffered a broken jaw and two broken arms during the collision.
Police have reason to believe that alcohol played a role in the crash because they took a blood alcohol sample from Marze as evidence. Since the crash, Marze has been charged with DWI and reckless driving.
