Motorcycist in Fort Bragg Accident Identified
In Johnston County, Fort Bragg officials have revealed the identity of a paratrooper who died during a motorcycle accident that took place this past weekend.
According to officials, the victim was 25-year-old Staff Sergeant Edwin Ramos. He died during a collision on Interstate 40 which is near the Johnston-Wake County Line.
Officers say that the motorcyclist, who is from the state of Illinois, lost control of his motorcycle and the bike then slid on the ground eventually crashing into a guardrail. Following the accident, Ramos was transported to Wake Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities say no one else suffered injuries.
Ramos was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division and he is survived by his son and wife.
