Car Accident Tales Life of Man Outside of Easley
A car accident took the life of a Greenville man last weekend outside of Easley.
According to Lance Cpl. Bryan McDougald, 61-year-old James Rhodes was driving on S.C. 183, about ten miles away from Easley, when his Ford four-door crashed into a 2006 Crown Victoria. The driver, Justin Cheeks, was brought to Greenville Memorial hospital for minor injuries. Rhodes, however, was pronounced dead on the scene.
Since the crash is still under investigation by state troopers, the cause of the accident has yet to be released. It will be revealed by the Highway Patrol's Multi-Disciplinary Accident Investigation Team once they have come to a final conclusion about the car accident. They did reveal that Rhodes was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
