High School Student Dies during Car Accident

Tragedy struck a Michigan family when they learned that their daughter had died in a car accident.

Haley Baldinger, a senior athlete in high school, was traveling with her younger sister Hannah and friend Paige Gokey on US-1 when she lost control of the vehicle. According to police reports, the car went across the center line and collided head on with another vehicle. While Haley was pronounced dead on the scene, both girls have been treated for their injuries and are expected to make full recoveries. 

The small community has been hit hard with the news of Haley's death, including the school superintendent. Staff and students will have access to grief counselors this week to cope with Haley's sudden and unexpected death. 

The three girls were traveling back from North Carolina, their spring-break destination.
