Three Taken to Hospital After Drunk Driving Accident
Three people are being treated in local hospitals after a drunk driver took to the road in Essex County.
According to court reports Mateusz Chruscicki, 34, was charged with causing the four-car accident while under the influence of alcohol. When he went before the judge at his arraignment Chruscicki pleaded not guilty to all of the charges against him.
After the police department received several 911 calls regarding a red Ford 350 pickup truck that had hit several vehicles on Route 1, officers were dispatched to pull the vehicle over. When officers arrived they discovered that two of the people involved had sustained injuries that were transported to Lynn Union Hospital. Another victim, a male, suffered serious chest injuries that are being treated at Beth Israel Hospital.
Chruscicki now faces two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, a marked lane violation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and several other charges.
