Catawba County District Attorney, Wife Involved in Boat Accident

Last Sunday night, the district attorney from Catawba County and his wife were celebrating their anniversary on Lake Hickory when a sudden turn of events could have been extremely dangerous.

According to reports, the couple went out onto the lake to watch then sun set. While returning back to the dock, the boat reportedly collided with another, ejecting both district attorney Jay Gaither and his wife from the boat.

Gaither said he immediately began looking for his wife once he hit the water. No parties in the accident were seriously injured or killed in the accident. Officials said that alcohol was not involved in the crash.
