Mount Vernon Businessman Killed in Car Accident
Just shortly after midnight Sunday morning, the prominent and well-known businessman, Jeffrey M. Todd was fatally injured in a car accident off of North Carolina state Highway 168.
Traveling southbound on the road, the driver of his vehicle swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle. At this time, his car was ejected from the roadway and flipped in a field of corn.
Todd was immediately thrown from the vehicle, sustaining injuries that would ultimately lead to his death.
Police released a statement revealing that alcohol was not a factor in his accident, but did not provide any other information regarding the injuries.
The late head of Todd Restaurants, Inc. leaves behind his wife, two daughters, and his brother and sister as well.
