Stage Collapse at Indiana State Fair Claims the Lives of 5 Bystanders
Despite forecasters' warnings of strong winds and heavy thunderstorms, the country superstar Sugarland's most fanatic followers stood at the foot of the stage just minutes before the duo was set to perform.
Suddenly, a 60mph gust of wind tore through the Indiana State Fair bringing down the entire stage with it. Claiming the lives of five fans and injured dozens of others, many are now asking if this was an accident that could have been prevented.
While there was warning from the National Weather Service, further investigations are occurring to determine if the accident was preventable and who should be held accountable.
Among the victims in the accidents, fatal injuries were suffered to Tammy Vandam, 42, Glenn Goodrich, 49, Alina Bigjohny, 23, Christina Santiago, 29 and Nathan Byrd, 51.
