Black Friday Shoppers Pepper-Sprayed at a North Carolina Wal-Mart

The hoard of Black Friday shoppers were doused in pepper spray as a result of an alleged over-reaction by police officers inside the store.
Reports noted that at least 20 shoppers were in line for cell phones that were heavily reduced in prices when a man fell onto the display. According to nearby witnesses, this was the result of an accident; the security guards in the store immediately thought there was a fight.
Instead of reacting calmly, the off-duty police officers in the store fired pepper spray into a crowd of people, sending a child to the hospital and making an arrest, according to reports.
The man who was arrested noted that his granddaughter is asthmatic, and had to be rushed to the hospital as a result of the pepper spray.
Authorities at the scene of the incident are now disputing witness accounts, saying that only one puff of pepper spray was fired and no one requested medical attention.
