Ringing in the New Year with Some Safety Tips

At the Whitley Law Firm, we want to wish you and your family a safe and happy new year. We have provided a few safety tips to help you make the best of your new year and to have the safest 2012 possible.

Always remember to abide by the rules of the road and buckle up! When traveling to visit family this holiday season and throughout the next year, be sure to follow the posted speed limit, refrain from using your cell phone or any other distracting electronic, and always buckle your seat belt. Following these simple rules everyday can help prevent an auto accident, or prevent serious injuries if another driver hits you on the road.

Never drink and drive. While it is illegal get behind the wheel of a vehicle when under the influence, many people do it each day. Having a designated driver on New Year's Eve and any other time you drink can not only save your life, but it can potentially save others on the road. It will also set a better example for those around you.

Wear protective clothing and reflective gear when riding a bicycle or a motorcycle. While the winter months bring chilly weather and prevent many from riding bicycles and motorcycles, it is important to follow this safety tip if you choose to get on a bike. This will help another vehicle see you and can possibly prevent a collision between a car and your bike.

By following these safety tips, you may be able to have a successful and safe year in 2012. The Raleigh personal injury lawyers at our law firm can assist you if you have been injured in any type of accident, including a premises liability accident, product liability, slip and fall, or a pedestrian accident.

We hope that you and your family have enjoyed the holiday season. Contact a personal injury attorney from our office today if you have sustained injuries due to another person's negligent or irresponsible actions.
