Police Take 3 to Hospital after DUI Accident
In North Carolina, police reported that all southbound lanes of Interstate 77 were re-opened following a drunk driving accident that occurred on Friday morning. After the collision, police were dispatched to close part of the highway.
Officers say that a drunk driver in a Mercedes sedan was driving at nearly 100 mph when she suddenly rear-ended another vehicle and then ran into a guard rail. The serious accident took place just before 3:00 a.m.
Soon after the collision, the driver of the Mercedes and two other people inside of the vehicle had to be taken to the hospital after suffering non-life threatening injuries.
At this time, investigators on the case have not released the identity of the woman, but it has to reported that she will be charged with driving while intoxicated.
