Bride Paralyzed at Bachelorette Party Finally to Wed
Last year, at Rachelle Friedman's bachelorette party, a bridesmaid jokingly pushed her into the pool. After just one short year of recovery and rehabilitation, the bride-to-be is getting her dress ready at a shop in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Friedman recalls the sensation of paralysis, unable to walk or feel anything beneath her collarbone after the event.
While she understands that the act was playful and a "freak accident," it has left her wheelchair bound possibly for the rest of her life.
The group says they were celebrating when they all decided to go for a swim. Upon being pushed in the pool, Friedman hit her head on the bottom of the pool and suffered a C6 spinal cord injury.
In cases such as these, it is important to immediately seek medical help and then legal expertise. Especially with a wedding to plan, which will take place this coming Friday, medical expenses will begin to pile up.
Without help from a Raleigh personal injury attorney, an injury victim may be unable to secure the compensation from the accident that he or she needs to finish paying all medical expenses and keep out of debt.
Despite the accident, Friedman revealed that the bridesmaid that pushed her into the pool was, and still is, her best friend.
