Dangerous Log Splitter Recalled for Amputation Risks
A product recall was announced for about 20,000 Task Force 5-ton Electric Log Splitter after further research discovered a potential threat for amputation or laceration during use.
The product was found to have a hydraulic arm that slides under the machine while in use, posing a threat to individuals who put their hands on the handle while the splitter is in operation.
As of now only two reports of injuries have surfaced. The Task Force 5-ton Electric Log Splitter was sold exclusively at Lowe's for approximately $300. Changzhou Globe Tool Group Co. Ltd advises consumers to contact them to receive free warning labels if they wish to keep the electric log splitter.
