Firetruck Accident May Have Stemmed from Failure to Yield
When a fire truck collided with a car last week in Kernersville, one man lost his life while another was seriously injured.
According to the Kernersville Police Department, eyewitness reports show that the car failed to yield the right of way to the fire truck. There were several witnesses to the accident that happened on the 600 block of S. Cherry Street. Since a government-owned vehicle was part of the truck accident, the North Carolina Highway Patrol has been called in to assist with the investigation.
At this time neither agency is releasing details about the accident, not even whether the driver or passenger was killed. However, the survivor was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with unknown injuries. None of the firefighters were seriously injured.
