Frozen Roads to Blame for Multiple Accidents
Frozen roads are to blame for multiple accidents that occurred last Sunday, according to the Raleigh County Emergency Operation Center.
Around 2:30 p.m. an accident was called in for a car accident with injuries on Interstate 64 West near mile market 129. However, three of the individuals involved refused support from the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department, Beaver Fire Department and General Ambulance Service. However, these emergency responders were kept busy when another accident was called in an hour later. A wreck on the same roadway halfway up Sandstone Mountain left one person injured who was transported to Raleigh General Hospital.
A wreck on the eastbound side shut down the roadway for a while as emergency responders cleaned up the wreckage. This accident was called into 911 around 5 p.m. and was soon followed by an accident an hour later in front of the IGA on Ritter Drive.
