A young woman lost her life this week in Elizabeth City, NC in a serious auto accident.
According to North Carolina State Highway Patrol Trooper C.H. Allison, 19-year-old Mary Alexandra Gable was attempting to turn from Pitts Chapel Road to Peartree Road when a pickup truck ran into the side of her car. She was first brought to Albemarle Hospital by ambulance, then brought by helicopter to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Gable died a few hours later of her injuries.
Her Facebook page shows that Gable was attending Tidewater Community College and was a recent graduate of Kellam High School. The man responsible for the auto accident suffered minor injuries that were treated at a local hospital. At this time police have not filed any charges against him.
Just one year ago at the same intersection, a fatal accident took the life of another motorist.
