Man Injured during Boat Accident on Lake Norman
Another boat accident hit the news this week, this time when a man injured himself on Lake Norman.
According to officers with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, the man got tossed off the boat when it hit a large wave. The boat then ran into him, causing multiple bodily injuries; he was just inches away from being hit by the propeller as well. Luckily, he was not alone on the boat, and his friends quickly circled back to rescue him from the water. Once emergency personnel arrived, he was taken by helicopter to Carolina Medical Center.
The victim's identity has yet to be released.
Officers with the NCWRC advise boaters to attach a lanyard to the kill switch to quickly and easily turn boats off in emergencies.
