Traffic Safety Award Given to Chapel Hill, NC

For the fifth time since 2004, the community of Chapel Hill received the high honor of being named an Outstanding North Carolina Traffic Safe Community by the AAA Carolinas.

Reports note that each year, police and troopers in the area look for new ways to keep the community safe from traffic collisions and fatalities.

The award is based off of accident statistics, the number of law enforcement in the area and the different initiatives and programs that the community has enacted to help keep their residents safe.

One way that the community is able to remain up to date on all safety standards and crash statistics is to take into serious consideration all of the complaints made by people who frequently travel on the roads in town. By using the residents' actual experience and interactions with the roadways, they are able to get a better idea on how they can improve upon the safety of the road.

While the community has won this award many times before in the past, they still strive to keep their roads as safe as possible, preventing harmful accidents from occurring.

Not all communities have advantages offered by the Chapel Hill Police Department, which has a specialized unit specifically designed for traffic safety. The team, called the Chapel Hill Crash Investigation / Traffic Enforcement Team, not only investigates and monitors traffic and traffic accidents, but also speaks about traffic safety in local schools.

The spokesman for the Chapel Hill Police Department was reported to say that the police department not only regulates and enforces traffic matters, but they also deal with personal injury and pedestrian injury cases.

To learn more about the Chapel Hill Police Department's efforts to provide a safer community and to retain the services of a personal injury attorney if you have been involved in an accident, call the Whitley Law Firm today.
