Early this morning, around 6am, an unidentified 20-year-old was driving through LeAnn Rimes' gated community, possibly under the influence of a mind altering substance.
The individual, according to reports, continued through the neighborhood, taking out a stop sign, a light pole and then traveled into the country superstar's fence.
Police have ordered a toxicology report for the 20-year-old driver, who also happened to be driving on a suspended license.
Rimes and her family were not home at the time of the accident, fortunately – they were in North Carolina, according to many sources.
While she is thankful that her family was not injured or harmed in the accident, she expressed her concern via Twitter for the worry of the accident. Rimes was noted to say:
"To address the accident that happened in front of our home this morning, everyone is ok and safe. However, if drunk driving was involved it is terribly sad. My family could have been seriously injured and any situation where someone is drinking and driving should not be taken lightly. Needless to say, it was a very unsettling call to receive this morning. Thank goodness the young driver and everyone at home are ok."
