Driver Plows into Outdoor Restaurant in Raleigh
As three friends sat down at an outdoor table for a relaxing lunch on a Sunday afternoon, a car slams through a restaurant patio in Cameron Village.
According to police reports, the driver of the car, 55, allegedly pulled into a parking space outside the restaurant when she began accelerating and drove over the curb and into the three friends' table.
After the car hit their table at approximately 10 miles per hour, it ejected each from their seat and continued into the restaurant.
Two of the friends were treated at WakeMed for minor cuts and bruises, while the third remains in the intensive care unit at WakeMed.
The third friend's condition has said to have improved to fair by a hospital representative since the accident occurred.
The driver of the car, according to reports, was almost immediately released from Rex Hospital and the two passengers in her car weren't injured.
Police are still unsure as to the cause of the accident and why the driver lost control of the vehicle.
