About the SSA Ticket to Work Program

As a program offered by the United States Social Security Administration, the Ticket to Work program offers the disabled additional incentives to re-enter the workforce before they reach the age of 65. A "ticket" is a legal document that provides evidence of the Commissioner's agreement to pay for employment services when a disabled beneficiary's ticket is assigned. In order to be eligible for the Ticket to Work program, a person must be 18 or older and under 65, a title II disability beneficiary, and in a current pay status for title II cash benefits. There are many other individuals who may be eligible for the Ticket to Work program, which is outlined in § 411.125.

The United States Social Security Administration provides many benefits for the disabled who are able to continue working in unique professions, should they be able to find an occupation that can fit their specific needs. For example, a program in the state of New Hampshire offers disabled individuals a $50 gas card each month that they return to work.
